Cleanse Day Four!

As of today, the cleanse is officially cancelled!

I'm sure you have lots of questions (beneath the eye-rolling and "I told you so's").

Yeah, yeah. I found out two things about myself this week:
1) Cleanses are not for me
2) I have bronchitis

So, numbers one and two may have worked together in cancelling this cleanse. I just couldn't keep up with it, mostly because of the taste. I tried to keep with the mantra that food is fuel and I tried really hard to stick with it but with my lack of appetite and feeling so light-headed without "real food" I decided that it's not worth beating myself up over. While the cleanse did help me RESET in the sense that I know I can go without all those deliciously wonderful fast food meals and junk food, it also did help me lose 5 pounds! AMAZE! (even though that might have just been the sickness. I guess nothing beats appetite-suppressing illnesses when trying to diet!)

Yeah, I feel kinda crummy that I spent all this money on Cleanse stuff and am not finishing it, but I know I can reach my goals in another way.

I know from the past (and I thank my workplace's Cognition session on being "Solutions Focused" for reminding me of this) that I can control my eating habits by myself and exercise to lose weight. I did it for my sister's wedding! There's no reason why I can't do this on my own!

So here's the new plan:

  • I joined WeightWatchers online and will be committed to the plan.
  • I will tell Chris how much weight I want to lose so he can help keep me on track (he's in the dark about this because I am SO EMBARRASSED even though he says he doesn't care and obviously he can see my body).
  • I will take my work colleague up on her offer to be "healthy eating buddies" so we can keep each other on track.
Essentially I did take a three-day RESET Cleanse anyway! Let's just ignore the big red box that says "Five Day Cleanse". :S

Three days is better than none, and now I've got a plan I can move forward with! I'm going to take the next couple of days easy, in the sense there will be no physical activity because I can barely breathe just sitting here (hello, lungs filled with sputum that are apparently "whistling and crackling") but Good Food is on my mind and ready to be made!

And nine hours after taking my first dose of the antibiotics I am feeling SO MUCH BETTER. Compared to yesterday, or even this morning, I am a changed person. I can focus. I can stay awake for more than 10 minutes. And I think my fever is gone!

Oh, and I found out that my right ear that I was certain was bleeding during the Machinehead concert last month is infected. The doc took one look in my ear and asked me if it hurt. Thankfully the antibiotics I'm taking for the bronchitis will help fix that, too.

I can't wait until I'm back to 100% - there's so much to do!
